The best Under 19 Country players battle for the Hughes Lilienthal Shield

The McDonald’s Country Colts (Under 19) gets underway on the South Coast and Shoalhaven on Tuesday 3 October through to Friday 6 October in the battle for the Hughes-Lilienthal Shield. There will be three one day games along with a day of T20 cricket.

Western Zone were the surprise winners last year, after going through undefeated and securing their first title since 2003/04 and they are quietly confident of going back-to-back under the guidance of 2023 Country Coach of the Year Garth Dean.

These matches will also be crucial for all players to show their wares for selection in the Under 19 NSW Country side to play in the national championships in December.

Chair of Country Cricket, Paul Marjoribanks impressed the importance of these competitions. “This could be the last opportunity for these young players to proudly represent their Zones before making the move to Sydney. As such the quality of these competitions is second to none and with NSW Country spots on the line I am sure the matches will be keenly contested." Marjoribanks said.

All matches will be live streamed. Links to be provided on the Country Cricket Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/CCNSW.

Country Cricket NSW would like to thank the host associations South Coast DCA, Shoalhaven DCA and Greater Illawarra Zone for the much-appreciated support.
