![]() | The New Coasters have made in two in a row in winning the McDonald's Under 19 Female Country Championships after defeating South West in the final and now proudly hold the Carolyn "Russian" Sheehan Shield. After scraping into the final courtesy of a bonus point win in the last preliminary match, captain Kate McTaggart stole the show with a brutal 120 from only 87 balls to see the Coasters end their innings with 299. This was Kate's second Player of the Final medal in a row!! Callee Black was superb with the ball for South West taking 5-40. In reply, South West could only manage 177. |
The competition saw two centuries - Jessica Bramble (Sthn NSW) with 131 and Kate McTaggart's century in the final. Charlotte Shoemark (South West) led the run scoring with 224 runs including scores of 97 and 95, followed by Jessica Bramble (212 runs) and Kate McTaggart (208 runs).
Callee Black (South West) topped the wicket takers with 8, while Monique Krake and Natalia Egan - both from Southern NSW each took 7 wickets.
Country Cricket thanks the team of volunteers at Woolgoolga Cricket Club for the amazing job they did in hosting and preparing grounds for the Championships.
